The other week I went with my class to a place in Greensboro N.C. called "Marsh kitchen and Design". We learned about all different kinds of the newest cabinetry and styles of 2019. I really enjoyed it, because I got to learn how an interior design degree can really influence your career path. I didn't realize that so many jobs rely on auto cad and designers to complete their company. Some designers don't work only at the computer, but also with public, new and former clients. We also discussed how long kitchen trends last and some come back. For example the copper hardware and blue cabinetry, or the two tone cabinetry. Which is something that I'm fond of, seeing a kitchen with light upper cabinetry, dark lower cabinetry and light floors, is visibly satisfying. This also makes the room seem lighter (if that's what your going for). I have completed the floor plan but I'm still working on the elevation's, and it's going really well, because this is my personal kitchen it's really helpful. For my cabinetry I chose in-set, that means that the cabinets are flush with the spacing between and you don't see the hinge. So far I have really enjoyed this assignment, I love to watch things grow and see something not completed because the small details aren't there, yet. So far I haven't chosen colors, the kitchen is currently really dark, the cabinets, counters, appliances, etc. Honestly it just needs to be updated and given that fresh look, of nature and cleanliness.
